Pre-Kindergarten

Red Jacket Elementary is proud to offer an excellent Universal Pre-Kindergarten/Pre-Kindergarten program that supports the educational needs of our youngest learners in an environment that nurtures social development, fosters creativity, encourages decision making, and promotes school readiness by preparing our young learners to make a smooth transition as they enter Kindergarten the following year.

In order to be enrolled in the UPK/Pre-K program, children must be four years of age on or before December 1, 2018 or otherwise eligible to attend Kindergarten the following school year.  A child who is age-eligible to attend Kindergarten is not eligible for the UPK/Pre-K program.

There is no charge for the UPK/Pre-K program; and currently, there is no transportation available.  UPK/Pre-K classes are half day, five days per week on school days.  Each class serves up to 18 children.  The UPK program runs five days a week, 2.5 hours per day from 8:45-11:15am. The 2018/2019 UPK class is full; however, we do offer an afternoon Pre-Kindergarten class that runs from 12:15-2:30pm. Both programs follow the Red Jacket Elementary School Calendar and follow a structured curriculum that is designed to prepare children for Kindergarten in the Manchester-Shortsville School District.
